The selection of glass for system doors is of great significance, which is directly related to the door's performance in aspects such as thermal insulation, sound insulation and noise reduction, and safety protection. In the market, there is a wide variety of glass types, each with its own unique characteristics. Consumers need to make a reasonable choice according to their own needs.
The thermal insulation performance is an important consideration when choosing glass. Low-E glass (low-emissivity coated glass) performs outstandingly in this regard. It is coated with multiple layers of metal compound film systems on the glass surface, which has a high reflectivity to medium and far infrared rays. In winter, it can reflect the indoor heat back into the room, reducing the loss of heat conduction. In summer, it can block the outdoor heat radiation from entering the room, reducing the cooling load of the air conditioner. Data shows that the system door using Low-E glass can reflect back more than 60% of the thermal radiation. In extremely cold or hot regions, double silver LOW-E or triple silver LOW-E glass can be selected to further enhance the thermal insulation effect, although its light transmittance will decrease slightly. In ordinary environments, single silver low-e glass can meet the needs.

Insulating glass is also a common choice for improving thermal insulation performance. It is made by separating two or more pieces of glass with a certain width of space, using aluminum frames and sealants. The air layer in the middle has a low thermal conductivity, which can effectively prevent the transfer of heat and improve the overall thermal insulation performance of the system door. Based on insulating glass, filling it with inert gas (such as argon) can further enhance the thermal insulation effect. The low thermal conductivity of argon can reduce heat conduction and energy loss.

In terms of sound insulation and noise reduction, double-layer insulating glass, triple-glass with two cavities, and insulating laminated glass have remarkable effects. Insulating glass has a good effect on isolating high-frequency noise. The air layer buffers the vibration of sound waves and weakens the propagation of high-frequency sounds. Laminated glass has an intermediate film such as PVB or SGP between two pieces of glass, which has an excellent blocking effect on low-frequency noise. When sound waves impact the glass, the damping effect of the intermediate film can absorb the energy of low-frequency sound waves. If there is a high requirement for sound insulation, a combination of insulating laminated glass and low-e glass can be selected to comprehensively play the advantages of various glasses and achieve better sound insulation and thermal insulation effects.

From the perspective of safety protection, tempered glass is a standard configuration. It has been processed by high-temperature heating and cooling treatment, and its strength is several times that of ordinary glass, with a significantly improved impact resistance. Even if it breaks, it will shatter into particles without sharp angles, reducing the harm to the human body. For scenarios with higher safety requirements, such as buildings facing the street or residential buildings on the ground floor, laminated tempered glass can be used. When it breaks, the fragments will still adhere to the adhesive layer, preventing splashing and causing harm, and it also has certain anti-theft and fireproof performance.

In addition, the quality of the glass raw sheet also affects the performance of the system door. Well-known brands such as Gold Glass, Huarun Glass, and CSG Glass have mature processes. The glass raw sheets produced by them have good flatness and transparency, and a compact structure, providing a quality guarantee for further processed glass. When choosing the glass for system doors, consumers should pay attention to the brand of the glass raw sheet and check the 3C certification mark of the tempered glass to ensure the product quality and safety
